Patterns By Jen: 2024 August Monthly Color Challenge Block

You know I have to throw my favorite color in each year, so here it is.

Our challenge this month is inspired by tropical fish. Such beauty lays under the water, it's hard not to be inspired.

This month our color is purple and our fish of inspiration is the Purple Dottyback. I don't know who comes up with these names, but LOOK at those eyes. So. Cool.

From A-Z Animals:The purple dottyback is a bright purple saltwater fish that is common in the aquarium trade. Their coloration can look purple to magenta to pinkish at times with darker purple circles around each eye. They have an elongated minnow shape and can get to be 3 inches long. Purple dottybacks’ dorsal fin and anal fin are clear with simple contour veining. The end of the tail fin is also clear. It is recommended that you keep them in a tank that is at least 30 gallons and if you plan to have it share the tank with tank mates be sure there are plenty of hiding spots. Dottybacks can be a bit territorial and feisty if not given room to retreat and feel safe.

Purple has always been my favorite, but you wouldn't be able to tell from the quilts I have made. I think I have one? Has that happened to you, numerous quilts NOT made in your favorite color?

I'm using Benartex's "Burlap" fabric line. Purple is my favorite color and these purples are just divine.
