2024 July Monthly Color Challenge Block

 I love the silvery sparkly of waves and water.




Our challenge this month is inspired by tropical fish. Such beauty lays under the water, it's hard not to be inspired.

This month our color is silver and is inspired by the Silver Dollar.




From Wikipedia: The silver dollar is a peaceful schooling species[1] that spends most of its time in the mid- to upper-level of the water. Its average lifespan is less than ten years but can live longer in captivity. A benthic spawner and egg scatterer, the adult fish will spawn around 2,000 eggs. This breeding occurs in soft, warm water in low light.

The silver dollar is listed as semi-aggressive but some silver dollars can be very mellow. These fish can be kept in community tanks with fish that can't fit in their mouths, and once fully grown, they can be kept with larger fish like oscars, pikes, and larger catfish.




I love silver. Twenty-six years ago our bridesmaids and groomsmen wore silver dresses and tuxes. Had I really been thinking when I planned this years challenge I would have used silver in June when we celebrated our anniversary. Oh well, I will still enjoy it this month.



I'm using Benartex's "Burlap" fabric line. I love the texture of the fabric, sooo much.

    Well, for the second month in a row, I have been unable to get either the Download button on pay hip or the Add to Cart button to do anything but spin in circles. I've tried my phone, my computer, my husband's computer. I've tried microedge (or whatever it is called now) and chrome. I can't get the June or July pattern. I guess I will no longer be getting the patterns since I can't get the site to respond to me trying to get them.

      I'm sorry you are still having problems downloading from the site Shelly. Please email me directly at jen(at)patternsbyjen(dot)com and I will get you those pattern instructions.
      I recommend clearing your cache/cookies. You can also try contacting Payhip for help, because I can't replicate this error on my end and do not know how to fix it.
      I always recommend signing up to have the block sent directly to your email so you don' thave to go to the site to download it, and you will always have access to it. If you sign up for just the Monthly Color Challenge it is just one email a month with the block, except when the layout is sent, then it's an extra email that month.
