Pattern cover update

I decided to upgrade the back of my covers where I list fabric requirements.

Old pattern back

When I first started, my patterns were simple and small enough that I could use a "pretty" font and make them "artistic."

Unfortunately, not only did that make it harder to read (who needs to read when it can look pretty, ha) it became harder and harder to fit in all of the requirements without causing confusion.

Enter the "easier to read" (hopefully) Fabric Requirements table.

New pattern back

Not only should it be easier to read, I can add backing and binding requirements as well. Backing and binding can be personal preferences, do you like having a base to go off of for those? Let me know in the comments.

I have a few patterns left that have the old set up on the back, but with each new reprint the old is becoming new again. I'd love to hear whatyou think of the new layout.

New digital patterns!

I am excited to add two digital patterns to my Etsy shop.

The first is Criss Crossing. This pattern is for a 78" x 103" quilt top. Using a large block this quilt is quick to build. It is perfect for the college dorm beds as there is a little extra length from the large blocks.

You can also choose to make just one block and turn it into a pillow instead. This quilt is for the advance beginner as accurate seam allowances are important.

The second pattern is Quilt Crush. This pattern is for a 63" x 81" quilt top.

The blocks are large enough to showcase some of your beautiful fabric finishing at 9" square. This quilt is perfect for a beginner.

Going Digital

I think it's time for me to join the 21st century and make my patterns available for digital downloads.

I know, I know. I'm behind the times. In all honesty though, I like paper. I like having the pattern in front of me to write on and flip through.  When writing new patterns I draw them all out on graph paper, write out the instructions on paper and then, and only then, put it into the computer.

Frayed Edges

So while this might not be a big deal to some, it is for me. A big step out of my comfort zone, but hopefully enjoyed by you.

Linked

Currently my patterns are available in my Etsy shop and on Craftsy. To celebrate joining the real world I am running a sale, from March 31 - April 7, all digital AND paper (because I love paper) patterns will be $5.00. Whoot! Whoot!

Spinning Bow Ties

When you make up any of the patterns I hope you will share and use #patternsbyjen on social media. You can also share your progress and finished quilts in my Flickr group.
