2024 December Monthly Color Challenge Block

 Well here it is, the last block in the 2024 Monthly Color Challenge. It always seems to catch me off guard, this last block. We're going to end the year with a gold star.

Our challenge this month is inspired by tropical fish. Such beauty lays under the water, it's hard not to be inspired.

This month our color is gold and we look to the Marigold Wag Swordtail to get inspired.

From Live Aquaria: The Marigold Wag Swordtail demonstrates a classic color combination notable among the widely bred color varieties of the Xiphophorus helleri Swordtail. The bold color combination of yellow and black gives the Marigold Wag Swordtail a sophisticated appearance. The Swordtail is perhaps the quintessential community aquarium fish. The time-tested popularity of the Swordtail can be attributed to its ease of care, peaceful temperament, and wonderfully diverse fin and color varieties.

I'm using Benartex's "Burlap" fabric line. This line has some gorgeous marigold "golds" to work with.
