A few tips for putting the block together, you can also find these in the How To video in the instructions.

When sewing the triangles together start with the right angle, not the point, to keep from getting the fabric bunched up.

Chain piece whenever possible, it cuts down on sewing time.

Trimmings to show there is extra fabric to play with.

Twist the center seam.

  1. This is going to be a fun year of sewing and recipes! Thanks for hosting!

    1. Thank you for being an awesome part of the Color Challenge!

  2. Thanks for hosting, Jen! This will be so much fun! My fat quarters arrived on Wednesday, so I'm ready to stitch along! Looking forward to seeing everyone's fabric choices!

    1. So happy to have your blogging and stitching along with us this year!

  3. I'm sorry, but I'm a total newbie. What is the "Link Up" to enter our block?

    1. Hi Jen! The Link Up will open January 25th. There will be instructions, but basically you will add a picture of your finished January block for others to see. That picture will enter you into the giveaway for one of the prizes from one of the sponsors.

  4. My first color challenge. I'm excited!

  5. My first color challenge. I'm excited!

  6. This is my first color challenge too! Thanks for the tip on twisting the center seam to flatten it out. I've never done that before but it works like a charm!

    1. I'm so glad you found it helpful! It took me a bit to learn to love it. LOL
