October 2026 Monthly Color Challenge

 

We are in the final third of 2026 and the Monthly Color Challenge with Patterns By Jen. Just three more blocks to go and we will have a beautiful quilt made from colors inspired by frogs from all over the world. The 2026 Layout was released in July and quilters have been working on it in order to have a fully pieced quilt by the end of the year. I'll have it linked at the bottom of the post. 

2026 Monthly Color Challenge: A Free Block of the Month Program

The month our inspiration is the Pumpkin Toadlet.

This little guy is the perfect color for October, and he's soooo tiny and CUTE! The Pumpkin Toadlet, however, cannot jump and struggles to hear it's own mating call. Still it continues to live in the Atlantic Amazon and survive. You can read more about it here, it's pretty interesting.

The fabrics I am using this year are Whisper Weave and Whisper Weave Too. They are basics from Benartex and have a wonderful texture to give these blocks some movement. This month our dark is Marigold and our light is Pumpkin.

Each block comes with it's own how to video. Jump on in and learn this fun hobby, one block, one quilting unit, one month at a time.
